Step 1: Download LogEverything EA



  • Save the file in a location where you can easily access it, as you'll need to transfer it to your MT4 platform.

Step 2: Install the EA on MT4

  • Open the MetaTrader 4 platform on your computer.
  • In the top menu, click on File > Open Data Folder to open the MT4 root directory.

  • Navigate to MQL4 > Experts in the data folder.

  • Copy the LogEverything.ex4 file and paste it into the Experts folder.

  • Close the data folder and restart MT4 to ensure the platform recognizes the new EA.

Step 3: Activate the EA on Your Chart

  • Open the Navigator panel in MT4 (enable it from View > Navigator if not visible).

  • Under Navigator, expand the Expert Advisors folder.

  • Locate LogEverything in the list of Expert Advisors.

  • Drag LogEverything onto the chart you want to monitor, or right-click and choose Attach to Chart.

Step 4: Configure the EA Settings

  • When the EA is attached, a settings window will pop up.
  • Review and configure the available input settings:

    • Logging Mode: Choose between recording data for the current chart only or for all open charts.

    • Maximum File Size: Set a maximum file size limit (in MB) to manage storage usage.

    • Historical Data Export: Enable or disable historical data logging for the MT4 Strategy Tester.

    • Indicator Settings: Toggle individual indicators on or off and set custom parameters (e.g., Moving Averages, MACD, RSI).

  • Once your configurations are set, click OK to activate the EA with your custom settings.

Step 5: Allow Automated Trading

  • Ensure automated trading is enabled in MT4 by clicking AutoTrading in the toolbar, turning it green.

  • In the chart window, a smiley face icon next to the EA name means it’s running correctly. A frown face means automated trading is not allowed; double-check your settings if necessary.

Step 6: Let LogEverything Record Data

  • Once activated, the LogEverything EA will begin recording price movements, indicators, volume, and trade executions.

  • Newly opened charts will be detected, and data from these charts will also be logged automatically if you selected the option to record all open charts.

Step 7: Access the Recorded Data

  • All recorded data is stored in a structured, formatted text file within the Files folder of your MT4 installation directory.

  • To view or analyze the data, go to File > Open Data Folder > MQL4 > Files. Here, you’ll find folders organized by date and symbol with detailed logs of each trading session.

Step 8: Upload Data to ChatGPT for Analysis

  • Export the recorded session files from the Files folder.

  • Upload these files to ChatGPT for analysis. ChatGPT can identify patterns, analyze trends, and suggest improvements or new strategies based on the recorded data.

With the LogEverything EA, you now have a powerful tool that can capture every detail of your trading sessions, enabling detailed post-session analysis, backtesting, and strategy optimization.
